Samantha Burdon

Team-05 Senior Community Support Worker / Team Leader

After leaving college I worked in various administrative roles both in Sheffield and Taunton.  In 2000 I started working for Somerset Social Services working with adults with learning difficulties.  I worked as a Care Assistant in day care services and in residential.  After a few years I left and worked as an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Musgrove Park Hospital and then at a Family Assessment Centre as Practice Coordinator and as a Support Worker.  Here I worked closely with families focusing especially on those with learning difficulties.

I left in 2009 to have my first child and worked as a “stay at home mummy” and had my second child in 2012.  Since September 2015 I have started working as a Support Worker for My Day.

My hobbies include reading, listening to music and pottering in the garden but my first love is spending time with my family.
